Segen Launches New Commercial Solar Panel Recycling Scheme
As the UK’s solar capacity continues to break records, the industry faces a growing challenge: what happens to solar panels when they reach the end of their life, or when a commercial site undergoes a major repowering project?
At Segen, we believe that true sustainability means taking responsibility for the entire lifecycle of the products we provide. That is why we are over the moon to announce the launch of our brand-new Solar Panel Recycling Scheme!
Phase 1: Supporting Our Commercial & Corporate Partners
Whether you are an installer decommissioning a large-scale rooftop array or a corporate entity upgrading your energy infrastructure, Segen now provides a seamless, cost-effective way to ensure your old hardware doesn’t end up in a landfill.
Note for Residential Installers: We haven’t forgotten you! Phase 2, which will include residential panel recycling and customer drop-offs, is currently in development. Stay tuned for further updates.
Simple, Transparent Pricing
We’ve kept our pricing structure straightforward to help you factor recycling costs into your project tenders with ease:
| Panel Size | Price (Excl. VAT) |
| Up to 2m Panel | £6.00 per panel |
| Over 2m Panel | £7.00 per panel |
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Quantity: 35 panels (1 full pallet).
- Maximum Quantity: No upper limit. We simply ask that panels be stacked 35 to a pallet (e.g., 70 panels = 2 pallets).
- Coverage: This service is available across Mainland UK (excluding the Highlands & Islands).
We know that on a busy commercial site, space is at a premium and timelines are tight. Our recycling logistics help keep your project moving:
Fast Collection: We aim to collect from your site within 48 hours of your booking.
Transport Costs: Shipping is quoted on a Price on Application (POA) basis, allowing us to give you the most competitive rate based on your specific location and volume.
Why Recycle With Segen?
Beyond meeting your environmental obligations and bolstering your company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) credentials, recycling solar panels allows for the recovery of valuable materials like silver, silicon, and high-purity glass. These materials are then fed back into the manufacturing chain, reducing the need for destructive mining and lowering the carbon footprint of future solar technology.
