Joining the Segen Finance platform

What does it take to join the Segen Finance platform and offer our lending to your customers? You will need to pass a vetting process to register with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR). This is a straightforward process which is designed to prevent fraud, protect consumers, and protect your business’ reputation.

As an IAR, you will introduce clients to our financial services without providing direct financial advice or services. Your role is crucial in bridging the gap between customer needs and our financing solutions. Read the required onboarding steps below.

The onboarding process

1.

Fill out the onboarding contact form. Once we receive your contact info, we’ll request some basic company information and set up an intro call.

2.

Segen Finance will conduct thorough due diligence on your business. We need to ensure that our partners uphold the high standards we set, including financial stability, business model viability, and staff competence.

3.

Sign a contract. If your business checks out, we’ll formalise our partnership through a written agreement which will outline the scope of your activities as an IAR and our mutual responsibilities.

4.

We’ll provide training on FCA rules and regulations. This training is essential to ensure you fully understand the extent and limits of your role as an IAR. We’ll also guide you in setting up internal procedures, like proper record-keeping and client introduction processes, to ensure you always stay within the law.

5.

We will assist you with the official FCA registration as an IAR. This will require detailing your business activities, your relationship with Segen Finance, and the nature of the introductions you will make.

You’re all set up! At this point you may begin offering our financing to your customers according to relevant FCA regulations.

FAQs

An IAR is an appointed representative of a company (such as Segen) who is able to introduce their customers to finance options using Segen’s FCA licence.

To introduce financing to private individuals, you are required to have approval from the Finance Conduct Authority. If you do not have that approval, and meet Segen’s criteria, you will be able to use our approval to help facilitate sales to your customers who don’t have the required lump sum of cash for a solar installation.

Segen must carry out due diligence checks to ensure your company and directors are competent and in good standing. To onboard, you will need to provide a variety of standard company information. Further details on what is required can be discussed with one of our team members.

After you register your interest with us to become an IAR, Segen Finance will send you an onboarding pack to complete. Provided you meet the requirements, Segen Finance will enter into an agreement with you and notify the FCA that you are now our IAR. Once the admin is done, Segen will invite you to an onboarding day to kick-start your financing journey.

As an IAR of Segen Finance, you will only be able to work with Segen approved lenders.

By being able to introduce financing to your customers to Segen Finance, we can help facilitate sales to your customers who don’t have the required lump sum of cash for a solar installation.

We can provide a full list of our criteria once you have registered your interest in becoming an IAR.

Within FCA regulations, you are allowed to have multiple principal firms, however we want this to be a collaborative partnership. We would therefore ask you to not work with any other Principal firms during your time as one of Segen Finance’s IARs so that we can ensure that your customer gets the best experience possible during their financing journey.

Prior to onboarding, we will check that you meet all of the requirements needed to become an IAR. Depending on where you fall short, we can help guide you to get to the level you need to be to become an IAR. Once onboarded, we will work with you to ensure that these standards are maintained.

Register your interest.

Register your interest in Segen Finance, and we will keep you updated as to when our products are available. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
