Clean Energy Technologies |
We offer three clean power technologies, which can often be combined - maximising the generating potential and educational benefits of your system. Small WindSegen is the UK's largest small wind turbine installer with over 100 turbines installed nationally. Wind turbines capture the energy in the wind and convert it into electricity, reducing the need to buy energy from the grid and reducing C02. When the amount being generated exceeds the amount being used, excess power can be sold back to the grid. We can supply, install and support seven different models, so it should be easy to find one to suit your organisation. Wind turbines are a visible symbol of your organisation’s commitment to reducing C02 and provide a fantastic educational resource. We offer a number of add-ons to maximise this potential, including digital displays giving real-time information about energy generation and C02 reductions, network-linked communication devices and project information displays. Segen will help with every phase of a wind turbine project, from the initial idea and site survey through to completion, including the planning permission and grant application processes. Our methodical and detailed approach helps to ensure a successful outcome. The panels can be mounted on most types of south-facing roof or can be built into the roof structure of new-build projects. A typical 5kWp system will generate 5,000 units of electricity per year, saving over 2.5 tonnes of C02. Most non-for-profit organisations are eligible for LCBP Phase 2 50% grants for our solar PV systems and our additional grant finding service can add to that significantly. Solar PV panels are an excellent way of adding on-site energy generation to your organisation. Panels can be mounted on almost any south-facing roof and systems are flexible in size to suit your energy requirements and budget. Educational benefits are maximised by including digital displays giving real-time information about energy generation and C02 reductions, network-linked communication devices and project information displays. Segen will help with every phase of a solar PV project, from the initial idea and site survey through to completion, including the planning permission and grant application processes. The heat from the engine block, oil cooler and exhaust, which would normally be wasted is absorbed by coolant water through a specially developed high efficiency heat exchanger. This energy, stored as hot water is then usable directly for central heating, hot water, or indirectly for air conditioning. In general, the production of 1 kilowatt of power creates 2 kilowatts of usable heat energy. For more information about micro-CHP systems, we recommend you read the Micro-CHP FAQs |
