Having a wind turbine or solar PV system on-site means your school or community organisation has an educational resource that can be used as the basis of a whole range of curriculum activities. The design and configuration, electricity generation, CO2 reductions and economic aspects of the system can be incorporated into many different subjects, including; science, geography, design and technology, citizenship, maths and business studies.
Segen’s clients can access the The Low Carbon Partnership’s Our Planet multimedia education pack which includes tailored Key Stage 1-4 teaching materials and we also work with the development education centre Global Link on various educational projects that explore the impacts of climate change.
Performance displays, monitoring equipment and information signs are incorporated into our projects, so that regular users of the building and visitors can see the effect of the installed technologies. | Digital Displays Our digital displays show what the system is currently generating, what it has generated since installation and how much CO2 has been saved. They can be customised with a logo and photograph of your choice. Anyone viewing the display is instantly aware of how nature is at the heart of a renewable energy system. If the sun comes out from behind a cloud or the wind dies down, the readout will show exactly how the power output has been affected. |
