| The Yorkshire and the Humber Region of EnglandThe Yorkshire and the Humber, through a number of regional agencies provides very active support for renewable energy projects, including small wind. The Yorkshire and the Humber also has many excellent locations for small wind turbines. This page contains information that you may find useful when considering a small wind project in the Yorkshire and the Humber and we would welcome your comments and suggestions on how to improve it. | The Yorkshire Forward Farm Resource Efficiency Programme (FREP) is now providing funding for small wind turbines. FREP is a small capital grants programme designed to help farmers improve the overall economic performance of their holdings. The goal is to achieve this through the introduction of new technology to promote energy efficiency. The technology must be for use directly in connection with faming, not domestically or for diversification. The funding, up to a maximum of £25,000 can be used for the purchase of a small wind turbine including any needed grid upgrade. Round four is now open and they are accepting applications for the Farm Resource Efficiency Programme with an application deadline for this round of Monday 17th August 2009. Please view the full details of this program on the Yorkshire Forward Web Page. |
