The South East Region of EnglandThe South East region covers the area from Kent up to Oxfordshire and across to Hampshire. The South East, through a number of regional agencies, including TV Energy, provides very active support for renewable energy projects, including small wind. The South East also has many excellent locations for small wind turbines. Download our PDF Guide for the South East This page contains information that you may find useful when considering a small wind project in the South East, or you can download our dedicated PDF guide for rural businesses in the area. | The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) is offering up to 40% grants for renewable energy systems for eligible farm businesses and is now up and running. The funding is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) which is a £3.9 billion programme of economic, environmental and social measures designed to develop farming in the South West over the next six years. Full details of this programme are available now on the SEEDA RDPE Web Site. |
Wind ResourceThe map below will give you an indication of where the strongest wind areas are in the South East. The areas shaded in red, green and yellow are considered excellent for wind projects, but much of the rest of the South East provides adequate wind resource for a small wind installation to be viable.
